[Resolved] Changed thermal paste of laptop but CPU temps keep "jumping" up to 96°C

So I changed the thermal paste of my laptop last week. The GPU temps went down but the CPU temps keep "jumping" up to 96°C especially when gaming. I also noticed that my FPS got lower than usual in League of Legends (since it relies mostly on the CPU). I followed a Youtube tutorial of the exact same laptop model repasting and I am pretty sure I got everything right. I'm suspecting there's not enough pressure applied from the heatsink on the CPU? Did anyone encounter something similar? Any suggestions/tips on what I should do? I thought about reapplying thermal paste on the CPU but I wanted to get some feedback before I do something that won't have any effect whatsoever.

Thanks in advance.

id say stop gaming until you get it fixed, could it be the fans maybe? something is keeping the hot air trapped and not moving around... heat sink mayb

I've checked if the fans were working before closing the lid and they were fine. For now I increased the fans' speed to maximum until I figure this out.

Change your performance power from Power Options to Gaming Boost one, and try .

I have it at High Performance all the time if that's what you mean. I can't find Gaming Boost.

(Resolved)

After reopening the case and heatsink, I noticed that I forgot to apply paste on the small parts circled in the photo with red. After doing that, CPU temps went down by 10°C. I guess 80-90°C CPU temp is fine when gaming. When I'm not gaming it's at 65-75°C.

Thank you all for your help!
