HP Pavillion will not start windows and will not load system recovery

I've been having this problem for a while now. I have an XP disc and have followed the instructions on several tech websites, tapping F10 repeatedly doesn't work as the operating system was upgraded several years prior to the breakage. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I also cannot boot using a XP disc, it just goes to the windows safety menu & loops back to start up.

I didn't understand most of it but yeah, have you gone into the bios and made sure that it'll boot of the disk instead of the hard drive?

Yes. I've made the CD drive priority.

Try to recover your old system back > start > all programes > accessory> system tool > restauration system , choose a date back few months ago.

Probably a problem with you RAM. It happened to me a couple of months ago. If you have more than one RAM, try taking out one of them (and vice-versa) and try to start. If it works, the RAM you took out is the faulty one and is probably damaged.
If you have one RAM.... try to get another from a friend or some where and replace it. Most probably, the problem will be solved.

Youd get a blank screen if it was a RAM fault, just tru another xp disk, could be a boot mgr fault on the disk

it happened once with me the solution i got was making a usb pen run installing windows cause with cd idk why i was not able to so made that usb acting as windows cd. used something like win setup for usb w/e

Had the same thing on my laptop some months ago, brought it in for repair & they said it's a typical problem when your motherboard is broken.

You've got corrupted files in your system folder.

Did you to put the workspace memory in and out? Sometimes it is a bad connection or smth;)

When using recovery discs, the drive cannot read the disc (no errors open). For example, the computer is turned on with the first recovery disc inserted into the drive. The drive activity light flashes quickly while the screen remains black with a flashing cursor. Eventually the drive activity light stops flashing after the drive stops reading the disc.
Is this happening to you ?

Yes but it can't go into system recovery anyway, for some reason when mashing the correct button nothing happens.

When mashing the correct button for system recovery; do you got any error 1002 message display ?
Or you can't access system recovery by pressing f11
If yes; perform a system recovery using recovery discs.

No error messages occurs. Nothing happens, it just goes start into the "do you wish to start windows normally screen" and If I click yes, the computer just loops and goes back to that screen again.

It's fucked up, basically.

To access the HP System Recovery, turn on the computer and immediately press the "ESC" key to display the Startup Menu, and then press the "F11" key.

I belive it will work; worked on my HP.

Nah, got a free new repair / motherboard and ram since the pc wasnt 2 years old yet.
