Did you check that your task manager don't have duplicate program running?

More XP users here than I expected, But I do believe that this can be fixed regardless of the OS type. As Stonex2 stated on the previous page, he's using XP
and it's working fine for him, which means he can share his PC statistics & driver details to see what's required(correct me if I'm wrong).
We should also have a small launcher changelogs to update users what was added or removed, what bugs was fixed or any extra permissions was given
during the process. We can't fix a issue without knowing the source/required informations, not relevant anyways since it's in good hands.

The settings icon will be removed. The launcher automatically takes the same directory as your SA:MP client has configured.

If you are using Windows XP, I will not be able to help you. Windows XP is nearly 15 years old and is no longer supported by Microsoft. You should consider updating to an up-to-date operating system.

Another launcher update to fix some crashing issues has been pushed a few minutes ago. Please re-start your launcher to have it updated.

Another launcher update has been pushed out to fix some issues on Windows XP. Simply run the launcher and it will update itself. If you still have problems on Windows XP, send me a private message with information on when it crashes.

I tried the new updated launcher and whenever I'm going to start the game, single player GTA SA runs instead of SAMP.
