• To get started, type /helpme and choose City Hall
  
  
• Enter the city hall. When you are there, walk into the checkpoint infront of the desk, and choose: Mechanic
  
  
• You have now entered the job, now use /jobhelp for help regarding the job of Mechanic. (Can be used on other jobs also)
  
• After you leave the city hall, you will have to type /helpme again and choose Mechanic Depot
  
• After you are at the Mechanic Depot, enter one of the towtrucks, then write /mduty to go on-/off-duty.
  
• Now wait untill someone uses: /service mechanic.
  
• Trace his number using /tracen and a tip + marker will appear on your screen.
  
  
• When you have come to the person in need of a mechanic, you can now - either fix his vehicle using/carfix, or refuel his vehicle using /carrefuel.
  
  

I can't do /tracen when duty, "you are not detective" it's said

They removed tracing from mechanics. I believe you can do something like /acceptjob and you'll get a marker. Not sure tho

You need to call the customer and understand the location by talking with each other.
