SD card help needed

So I recently got a new phone (Sony Xperia M5) and it only has 16 gb. I downloaded some apps and song and 12 gb been used already so I bought a SD card. I want to know if I move all my music to the SD can I delete my music from the internal/phone storage and still be able to listen to the songs from the music app.
