960m is the mobile version of the 960 and it's a lot wore than it's full size counterpart

If it has M the run from it. Its a significantly toned down version, and nowadays laptop cpus can handle desktop guis. With that said, the 940 = 960M
1050 is miles ahead the 940

i'm actually thinking of buying ASUS STRIX GL753VE (16go ram , CPU i7 7th gen,GPU 1050 TI 4go)
if not , i'll take this one HP OMEN 15-AX201NK ( 32ram , CPU i7 7th gen,GPU 1050 4go)

The asus is slightly better (double the ssd), but 126 gb isnt that bad if you have 1tb HDD.
But regarding ram, that extra stick makes the hp stand out.
The way I see if for 2017 the asus is better. You dont need 16gb ram. However if you dont plan to buy a computer every two years, then the HP will serve you much better
(they both have the same gpu, 1050 where did you see 960M?)

yeah i heard some rumours about the GTX 1050 that it was a fail and had my eyes on an OMEN with a 960M GPU but i changed my mind about it.
Also the Asus' GPU is GTX 1050 Ti while the other's just GTX 1050 :p
