Installing IM-RP launcher and game has broken my main copy of GTA SA.

I first joined IM-RP through the regular SA-MP launcher/server browser in my install. Found out that the IM:RP launcher was reccommended; Installed that, and played a few hours.

Apart from the fact that the IM:RP version of the game was extremely bugged/poorly configured, my regular San Andreas install now crashes when launched. They're supposedly separate versions, so why is this happening?

The non-IMRP game copy still launches SA-MP fine, as far as I can tell, but not single player. Yes, I am launching from my regular directory, not my IM:RP directory.

Unless you changed something in the launcher settings that changes your default IM-RP game directory to your installation, it shouldn't have been modified in any way.

- Delete gtasa.set and see if the singleplayer crashes are fixed.
- Are you sure the .exe and main.scm/script.img versions match your save file's version? Try creating a new game, if it loads, then it's the save file being incompatible with your game's script/exe file.
- Can you send a screenshot of your regular singleplayer directory while you're at it?

I remember doing absolutely nothing to cross-contaminate my copies, no.

- I'm not sure where to find gtasa.set, given it's not in my default (non-IM:RP) San Andreas directory. I also assumed that IM:RP had done something to a shared settings file somewhere. If I find and delete this file, does that mean all of my meticulously-set keybinds will be lost? It took me fucking hours to do this.

- I'm not sure how to check the version of these files. The game crashes after the title cards, so I can't create a new game. What I do know is that it was working before I installed IM:RP, and it was broken directly after. If it happened to be that the versions were always incompatible, that would be impossible (since I would've played it despite it being incompatible), and would also be a very big coincidence.

- Sure. I don't have a screenshot from before IM:RP was installed, so I can't cross-reference to see if IM:RP has stuck anything in the directory that it shouldn't have. Not sure how useful it will be, but here.

Okay, if you do not want to delete the shared settings file, we can keep it for now.

Download https://www.mixmods.com.br/2022/09/crashinfo/ and https://www.mixmods.com.br/2020/10/iii- ... -mod-cleo/

Unzip CrashInfo, navigate through the following folders - SA --> EN --> (mod - to the game folder) --> drag all these files to the root directory of your game installation (root directory is the same place gtasa.exe is, the one from the screenshot).

Unzip SCRLog, navigate to the EN folder, then open SCRLog folder, drag these into the root directory as well.

Run gtasa.exe and replicate the crash, when it crashes, there will be a pop-up with the crash code and a possible fix, take a screenshot of that send it here.

The launcher will not mess with your directories if you do not choose your folder as your default game directory which you say you have not. So IM-RP launcher couldn't have snuck anything there.

Sorry for the delay in replying.

The problem seems to have inexplicably fixed itself. No clue why.

I don't really play IM, but I think it would be responsible for me to run the server a few more times and see if the problem continues or manifests again, so I can get more information on it. I'll grab that Crashinfo thing soon.

Thanks for all the help, Parker.

Also, I'd like to give a shout out to a game admin whose name I've totally forgotten. Maybe you know who I'm talking about. Super, super helpful, answered all my /ask questions with the patience of saint. Absolute respect for that dude, can't send along enough love.

You're welcome for both :)
