Keyboard & Mouse stop responding

Recently I have been having this problem where my keyboard and mouse both stop responding.
The lights are still on, but they wont work, sometimes it happens to the mouse only and i have to replug it so it will respond again. When the problem happens to both keyboard and mouse, I'm restarting my PC and it all works normal again. My PC has USB plugs only, I'm using PS/2 Mouse with an adapter, help? xx

Your adapter might be dead, or your plugs are. Not quite sure to be honest.
I highly doubt it's something software related though.

The soldering at the plugs could be worn out.

Is there any chance the mouse dosn't fit the PC? i mean, maybe it will work with a USB mouse?

Isn't your mouse allready USB? If not, what about your keyboard? If that's USB & it stops working aswell don't expect an USB mouse to work.

How old is your computer by the way? Doesn't matter what model etc. just the age.

When i bought the PC, I had problems with the old keyboard. I bought a USB one and it got fixed. I doubt the keyboard has a problem.. :/ and no mouse is not usb.

If it's only max 3 months old.. I dunno lol.
If you can get your hands on a USB mouse, try if it works. If it does, that's your problem. If it doesn't, then idk.

Yet you're still having problems with the keyboard? or did the USB keyboard fix the problems you had and you've no problems with it at this time?

If it happens after a while, I just get a stronger suspicion that it's due to worn out solders.

Solders.

This. I suggest you try a cheap fix first by trying a USB mouse, as if what Kelroy is saying is true, it might get abit more expensive.
