Wauw.. This evening and night had a lot of deathmatchers and bored kids with big guns around the city..
Trying to RP, but get ganked all the time by randoms running around with firearms..
As a newcomer this sucks. The hospital bill grows huge and I can't get to earn money without getting shot at..
Also, my brother experienced something too..
Downtown some group of goons were shooting at each other.. A few police officers were there aswell..
My brother RP'ed a carjacker and saw his move to snap an abandoned car, while the police were busy with the ppl killing each other.. But noooes

Just as my brother started picking the lock of this specific car, the police officer turned away from the battlefield and went to arrest this little annoying car thief.. Unrealistic..
Anyway, what can I do as a member of this server, to prevent goofs from running around and ruin it for the rest of us?

All you can do is to report them, that's the only thing you can do if you want to actually do something.
That is the way that this server works.

I would recommend reporting these persons if they are DMing. I would also recommend to not RP around the crowded areas such as Temple, Main Bank, car lot and so on. There's a less chance of you getting attacked or you actually witnessing a gunfight. Be careful and have your eyes wide open. Don't forget to screenshot (F8) when you see a person rulebreaking. / phone

You'll see that there are a lot of random rulebreakers in the streets and, tehrefore, if you want to RP robbing etc you have to find some tricks to avoid them from PGing or to make it obvious if they do PG...
However, besides from that, if you seek to stay away from DMers I would recomend you to don't stop in places such as main bank and car lot. If you want to RP I would recomend you to join a faction (Official or Unofficial).
I, personally, barely never get DMed... you just have to keep yourself busy, protected, and don't stop in DM places.

As all the others said, avoid crowded areas to RP, even the most experienced players are getting DM'ed there, Join a unofficial faction or try to get into an official one. I know how you feel. Also this server is Light RP so do not expect every detail to be roleplayed. If you need something use /report in game if there are administrators and state your problem, or take screenshots and report them on the report a player section of the forum.

It is just that I find it very difficult capturing those rulebreakers in action..
And then it is baad proof right there

It is correct that there is a problem with deathmatching on the server. However we are struggling to decrease the amount of DM.
What you an do is avoid any area with gunfights and report people who deathmatch you in our appropriate forum section.
That said, you may also want to perform less risky jobs such as trucking or fishing. These jobs will get you a decent amount of cash in a relatively short time. However they are not as interesting as carjacking or robbing houses or businesses.

I'm here for one year, and I still find difficult to prove it. Yes, you can record it, but that just makes your experience worse (lags for example).
However, if you "spam" F8, you might get lucky enough and catch them in the act.
You can also roleplay more, forcing them to roleplay along, in case they just spam "I WILL SHOOT YOU" when you are actually roleplaying an action that really makes his threat unneeded, then he's not roleplaying. Believe me, I've found some people with keybinds for robbing --'

Allright.. I will try, but it really sucks to have to spend all my little earnings on hospital bills, food or first aid kit, because of people randomly DM and kill for whatever reason they find..
I find it cool that you have to eat to get your health bar stable, but not if it's because you have to stay alive from goofs who just shoot/punch you all the time

Build a status, after people getting to known you better and to know what you can do, they will stop deathmatching you.

You can go to a house that is unlocked or rentable and type /Heal. You will sometimes get full HP only and not health. But in most of the houses, you'll get both of the bars full. That's what all people in IM does. x)

*half full, as Civillains (or people in Non-Legal factions) can only get half armour
