Why the chat is so big ?

It's up to your resolution mate. Plus if you maybe mean the lines, which I doubt, but you can also use /pagesize for it. And try configuring your resolution IG.

Try changing your resolution to something higher than your current one

No,
When your ingame, press ESC to bring up the options

Click on "Options"
Then click on "Display Setup"
At the bottom you will see "Advanced Setup" click on it.
change your resolution to 1280 x 720 x 32 and also make sure to have widescreen off.

/pagesize will only change the size of pages you want to display.

/pagesize is used to choose the amount of lines of chat to show. Nothing to do with the length.

press F7 if u want to make it small and if you want to hide it press F7 again and if u want to return it big press F7 too LOL
