I could also add a tip to my answer. It usually helps if you don't follow stereotypes and add some originality into your character, but it isn't always necessary. This usually gets people's attention easier and quicker, though, and will make the process a lot easier. Most of the time, their standards aren't so high and they'll still accept you - if you're willing to learn, that is.
