Alright, gonna do something useful. Finding out how to install sound mods was difficult but I hope it will be easier for you.

First step
First of all, you google "Alci's SAAT tool" and download it, afterwards, you copy the following files:
- saat_sfx
- saat_stream
- MegaData
- megadata-full
and place them in your main San Andreas directory which most commonly is :

Code: Select all

 C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas
Second step

Now what you gotta do is go to your Local Dick C: folder and search for the "temp" folder. Not a big deal if you don't have one, you can simpy create a folder and name it "temp" there.

Third step

Now, open command promt, most commonly found at Accesories or by searching "cmd" on search. Now, this part is very delicate, you gotta write you San Andrea's directory code which in my case is

Code: Select all

cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas
You can edit it to your directory but don't change the format, copy this and paste it in command promt and hit enter and the same thing is gonna pop up again.
Now, this part is gonna be the same for everybody, just copy this code and again paste in on Command Promt:

Code: Select all

saat_sfx -e audio\SFX\GENRL C:\temp\saat audio\CONFIG\BankLkup.dat
A lot of things are gonna load and show up which is a good and normal thing. Afterwards, minimize the command promt (DONT CLOSE IT) and go back to the Local Disk C: and go to the "temp" folder you had or just created. You will see a lot of folders such
as Bank_001, Bank_002, etc..., which also shows us that you have done good till now.

Fourth step

Now, go to the sound mod you downloaded (nature sounds, vehicle sounds, weapon sounds, whatever), the mod will probably have a certain number, open the folder and copy all the sounds, go back to the temp folder and go to the Bank_xxx (the number the folder you downloaded had, MUST BE THE SAME), place the sound and hit "Cy fiopy and Replace", make sure you do that for every file. Now, if you replaced all the sounds you wanted to replace (of course you gotta replace all, not only half or one/two.. of them) you have to go back to the CMD you had left open and paste this code

Code: Select all

saat_sfx -i audio\SFX\GENRL C:\temp\saat\GENRL\sfx_import.ini audio\CONFIG\BanKLKup.dat
and hit enter and close the cmd after everything loades, now you installed the sound mod.
[/i]
Here you can one of the newest sound mods.
