As the title says all..
but I use IMG tool for installing the skins, I do
Find ->skin name.txd ->Replace ->Downloaded skin name.txd and I do the same for .dff also
and finally I click Rebuild Archive and wait for it to finish and it says Finish..
I go to game, put on the skin I installed and BOOM nothing happened I have the same old gta sa skin.
HELP is NEEDED.

Here's a few things you could try:

Make sure the .txd and .dff are from the same skin mod.
Make sure the skin mod names are spelt correctly.
Install it to custom.img as well as gta3.img
Make sure you've actually placed it into the IMG tool, it should be highlighted in bold; then save it.

If it still doesn't work, try using a different IMG editing tool. I use SPARK, it's pretty good.

@Smooth, jeez thanks but it did not work.
The problem is my GTA sa is v1.01 or v2.0 and that version does not allow mods to be installed, I basically know how to handle IMG tool and SPARK and I installed my skins as the same way that you guys told me to and I also saw couple of youtube videos..(I am not a newbie in installing mods)but when ever I start the game in the server IM:RP, my guy looks like the same old gta sa skin guy... basically I am having trouble install the vla2....

so I am finding trouble in it..so please HELP ME.
AND if you do not know GTA SA v1.0 allows mods, so please find me a way to downgrade my gta sa v1.01 or v2.0 to v1.0.

Might also be caused by the fact that you've multiple GTA:SA directories and you have the wrong one as your default in SA:MP client.

I personally have 4 to 5 GTA: San Andreas folders, hence I've had issues with mods, so I have sometimes forgot to change the default one in SA:MP client.

samp --> settings --> San Andreas Installation Location

Where do you download your mods from? And do you only replace txd files or both txd and dll files? And if you want to downgrade your samp:

I already told you that I have tried downgrading my samp 10 times, and non of the times it worked, it must be bcuz of the cracked .exe tat I use, I reinstall my gta sa and see if the problems gets fixed...

Thank you but it did not work, it showed the same directory where I installed my mods and I have only 1 gta sa....
So, I will reinstall and see if it works.

Use Alci's IMG Editor.

@Dix: Reinstall and make sure you dont have multiple gta sa directory files.Download a separate crack if you have to.

@Smooth, can you please give me a link to a crack...
