Booting problem

May 29th, 2013, 10:36 am

I was away from my place for like last 20 days and there were constructions going on next door, I'm guessing it should be a excessive dust/hardware problem.

Whenever I try to turn my computer on, it doesn't bring the power to monitor/mouse/keyboard etc from the CPU. Monitor gets power externally and goes into powersaving. Sometimes if it doest turn on randomly a 'tdrrrrrrrr' sound happens and computer freezes/hangs- restart just brings ito step one as I said before not turning on at all. It's not a wooden computer and it was all fine before I left it last time. I could play farcry 3 on full specs and it's not supposed to be like this. I'm not an expert but I can do some basic cleaning and re-installing windows and stuff. If anyone can detect what exactly is wrong with it.

Thanks.

I might be going for the obvious, but if one thing works one day, and there's just one change before that thing stops working.... It might be the dust.

Most likely on your vents, have you tried to blow it?

Wait, so if i'm getting this right you can turn on your computer but it doesn't actually boot up windows and nothing shows up on the monitor? Did you get any blue screen before this happened?

Don't forget that the software demands more of the CPU right after it boots, when it's loading the OS files ;)

That's exactly what's happening.
I unplugged the ehole thing, moved it away from powersource and locked the place and left. I returned and tried to turn it on and this has been happening ever since.

I had the same thing happening with my computer a bit ago. Yes, it's caused by dust and other particles that get in the computer or over heating. What ended up happening was me piggy backing the hard drive to another computer and the blue screen showing up. If you had any important files and data they can be recovered which is a good thing. As far as i see the computer won't be working anymore. :/

He can try to de-assemble it, and clean it by blowing (DO NOT USE A Vacuum Cleaner, the static might ruin your hardware)

Other solution would be trying to clean it with a DeIonized cloth with Alcohol with neutral charges, but be very careful to not Electrify it.

Check the RAM cards, my computer done this once where it wouldn't load anything up, I ended up kicking it and heard a dropping noise. Turned out that the RAM cards became loose.

If you want to clean your computer just use an Air Duster since they're actually made for it.
