[HELP] Poor quality graphics

December 18th, 2012, 5:08 pm

Soooo.. I need some tech support.

I just reinstalled GTA SA, and I noticed some colors and effects are really poor quality. Fog, lights and rain for example. They turn really blobby. Much compared like running old Age of Empires games on W7. Some of the coloring turn purple etc. I have latest drivers and a decent hardware set, can post details when I get home).

Is the game just so old I remember it fancyer then it used to be? Or are there any enhancement MUST-have mods I need to tune into to reach quality like in the banner of IM? I have considered ENB but decided I dislike the over-realistic graphics and the drastic blur when the screen is moving gives me motion sickness. This is the main reason I had quit GTA IV on the Xbox.

Soooo.. if you'd like to inform me, please. There's a bunch of graphic mods in the modification part of the forum.. little confusing. HD textures, HD this that. I'm pretty sure my SA won't survive taking them all on.

Suggestions? Thanks!

When i start the game it usually asks for my resolution and something about color' s everytime before i launch it, if you got this too you have to experiment with those settings.

Run it with normal settings (no compatibility fungus what so ever).. may need to look into that.

You probably had some tune-up graphics mods, GTA San Andreas isn't a good game relative to graphics and quality, it's old and it was the best in the time it was launched.

I think we all agree it's an all-time classic. However compared to (i assume) unedited screenshots/videos, my graphics are below standards.

Look at your resolutions, when you chose the one you want there should be two numbers inside brackets, like this: (x16) or (x32). If you have (x16) try changing to the same resolution but with (x32) and vice versa.

Yea, hain3 is correct the x16 stands for the bits on the resolution and as we all know the bigger the number the bigger the payout in this terms the better the quality.

This sounds very plausible, going to give this a shot as I get home. Not sure what it's set to right now.

Are your graphics much like the banner impressions or more to the ENB side?

Update.. sadly my screen settings were already configured to 32 bits coloring. Any last resort?

Pay attention to the quality of roads, smoke from the exhaust of a car, watersplashes etc. Erased the chats as they are screens previously used in reports/disputes and I don't want to raffle up old arguments.

Documents > GTA San Andreas User Files > Delete 'gta_sa.set'

Load up the game and reconfigure your settings. Usually solves most graphical issues.
