How do I do this?

September 7th, 2017, 10:16 am

Hi,

I am getting a laptop soon, and when I do I would like to keep my old computer as a server. I would also use it as a gaming server for PS2. I want it so that I don't have the moniter and all just the computer, and able to remote manage it from my laptop. Can I do this?
The Computer is running:

OS: Windows XP HOME
System: Compaq Persario
Processor: 1.6ghz Pentium 4
Internet: DSL

Any idea, suggestions would be appriciated,

Thanks,

You can control your "server" via teamviewer but there's a problem. I dont know if the newest teamviewer works on Windows xp, you can try by using an older version that works on both windows xp and the os of the new laptop(prob w10)
You can set the team viewer to start when you power up your pc, in order to do that you"ll have to set an account, I think you'll figure it out by yourself when you instal TW.

I'm pretty sure you can install ubuntu or CentOS on that thing to use less system resources and set up a RDP connection to connect from Windows PC to it.
