When I try to open the launcher, I keep getting the same error.
I tried all the steps on fixing the launcher but nothing seems to work.

nah srssly tho i had this once. had fo reformat my whole pc (which i do from time to time anyway)
and then it'll work.
this is the last option. make sure you have done everything cuz the launcher normally downloads a directplay whatever and if you have gotten that from somewhere else instead of the launcher it might give that error.
hence the reformat of pc and then u use the launcher to set it up clean
