frametime spikes

lately i've been getting terrible frametimes which is making my game unplayable, i've tried everything and nothing seems to fix.
i've tried enabling vsync which made it even worse, tried capping fps using msi afterburner still was bad, tried installing my game on my ssd but that also didnt fix it.
If i cap my fps lower than 50 it seems to be fine but anything above that makes my frametime go insane.
Any idea on how I can fix it?
