As of the next restart, the mileage of vehicles will have an use.
All vehicles are required to regularly visit the Los Santos Vehicle Inspection and get their vehicles repaired and worn out vehicle parts replaced. It is recommended to do a vehicle inspection every 7500km.
Chances are high your vehicle may randomly break down if you do not do this - the longer you didn't do it, the higher the chance your vehicle's engine will more often fail to start and break down randomly.
This is the only Los Santos Vehicle Inspection for road vehicles. If you cannot find it, /car service will tell you where it is. There is a different inspection business for boats (Marina) and a different inspection business for aircrafts (LS Airport).
If you enter a vehicle that is owned by you, and it is due inspection in 500km or less, you will be prompted with a notice.
If you sell your vehicle, potential buyers can see when the next inspection is due. This may increase or reduce the value of the vehicle you are trying to sell - inspections aren't that cheap!
If you fail to regularly service your vehicle, parts of it will eventually break down. Your engine becomes very unstable and tends to break down often.

The 3 businesses are owned by me and will be for a while to see how the income is - do not ask for them.
You can see when the next inspection is due for a vehicle with /friskcar too.
Law enforcers are allowed to ticket your vehicle if you do not respect this regulation.
