Alright, so as first this is not a newbie guide but this section fits the best. Second, I am typing this from my phone so sorry for grammatical mistakes, and any kind of typos.
So, many have the whish to become a helper, aka, staff member..reasons why, are different with each individual, so as first step I am going to tell you about my story. I have been first assisting players arround 2011, as before that I was too dumb to do it, I was waiting at LVA and spamming newcomers with different type of stuff and as I assisted them admins noticed it and assisted me more when I needed help within some commands or anything to help the newbies, and it was a great feeling. I was attempting to become a helper for the next 3 years untill the 2014, after few fails and disasters as my type of behaviour didnt fit the staff team, and after they noticed I really changed I was given a shot. But you know that feeling when you wait for something so long, that when it finally comes, you are not up for it so much anymore? Well, that happened with me as I was so shocked I was finally a helper, I was proud and really damn happy, but it seemed to be too good to be true, and after a month and half, I decided I would leave the community.
Anyway, I dont want the same to be happening with you guys, that is why I am posting this.
Alright, so if you want to become a helper, there are few things you should know. You shall be ready to invest your time into helping others more than your own gameplay, you shall be ready to help anyone and anytime when the person needs help, you shouldnt be acting, aka posting in the help section 24/7 spamming unnecessary shit, just to prove a point, it is always pretty obvious. Instead of that just offer help when you are sure you can help in any way. Also about guides, no need to make unnecessary guides, as it isnt really a ticket to the staff team, make one just in case you are sure the same stuff doesnt exist, and that it would really be usefull. Next step is making yourself noticed in game. The easiest way is to stand at unity time to time and offer help, but not by spamming every individual that logs in, just by saying hello. Also PMing individuals that are lvl 1-4 offering them assistance in any case is helpfull, trust me, woot and others see it all, always watching.
Another thing, your attitude in game and on the forums is the most important thing, as it should fit the standards, so if you are really sweet and nice for two days and the third day you rage at someone and insult him really hard for example, it will take ages to fix that impression. If you had a bad past @IM, dont worry about it, just prove that you are different now- which really shouldnt be faked lol.
Also, guys, if you are trying to become a staff member, just so you could become cocky, and lock some threads and prove your power, dont even bother, as it will be noticed sooner or later, and that is a huge wall infront of the door to becoming a helper..
Some in addition : thatguy4helper etc.. that shit doesnt do the trick, it does even the opposite of it, so I dont suggest that really. And dont be nice just when helper applications open, be the same person for the full time of your playing and it will do the trick.
The management is seeking members that are ready to invest their time and effort into the community envolving, members that have the attitude and patience and that prove they are worth it even without the tag "Server helper".
I will add more to this and edit stuff when I reach my PC, I just wanted to share this with my fellow friends and everyone else that is attempting to become a helper.
Also Bill Davis, do you agree with me man? Feel free to add anything to the OP or edit anything if I am wrong, and everyone trying to become a helper.. good luck with it !
