Grounded USB port?

Hi, fellas. I'd like to ask a question if you guys don't mind.

My PC's other ports has been losing power whenever I connect the USB connector (no idea if it's called like this) so I can connect the DS4 to the PC. Could it be the cable, the DS4 or my PC itself? Can't quite try it on other devices since I don't have any other laptops in home, plus I use the USB cable for fast charging. Bit worried that I lose power whenever I plug this in on the front or back ports and I'll have to restart every time I try to do so.

Excuse me for replying late.

Just replace the power supply, If your laptop is old, it's a possibility that the supply has become faulty (everything becomes faulty over time). I definitely recommend getting a new power supply (of the same/slightly higher wattage of your current supply).

Definitely not an old power supply, I built my PC with all brand new parts.

Something might have broken in the power supply that is possibly randomly shorting the USB ports (since they are metal, and normally attached to the metal case). Maybe try taking the power supply out and checking for damage (computer could have been knocked and something may have got loose). If you don't see any problem, maybe check that the case hasn't suffered any damage in that area on the inside of the PC. (Credit: https://superuser.com/questions/685067/ ... ng-related)

A bit of correction if it is not clear, everything is working just fine with any device available at my home and it ceases to be working good until I plug the DualShock 4 in.

Hard to analyze the issue without your hardware specs.. Also the ports shouldn't be losing power bc another port is being used unless you have some weird energy-saving bs enabled in your bios or you lack power from PSU
i can only guess at this point...
and this section is only for server/client-related issues... we're not available to fix personal computer issues here, sorry.


Edit: I also use DS4, never ran into this issue (using original cable and front panel USB port)

My assumption is, the issue is caused by the DUALSHOCK 4 rather than the USB port/USB cable since it's working fine on other cables and I've tried different connectors just now. I first assumed that this is caused by the static but that doesn't seems to be the case anymore.

Usually concluded yeah, that means we conclude to re-direct you to a better and more reliable service for support. We can only suggest or analyze a possible solution to your issue based on what you provide here. We also don't fix these types of issues ourselves, to avoid any liability. That's also why you're better off consulting other places about your PS4 Controller.

All ports from front and to the back, the problem just occurs whenever I plug the DS4 and other devices lose power.
