Basically, if you are not online while an administrator jails you, you will be offline-jailed.

As Noam stated above, when you're being Reported for breaking the rules and you really broke them, the admin that is checking the report will have to jail you, If you're offline and the current moment you'll be offline-jailed, not something special.
